CAROLYN COLLIN
A founding member of the Historical Society of Olmsted Falls, Carolyn was a mainstay in its development. She created beautiful posters and signs that she would place in area businesses informing people about our meetings and activities. At the first major event that we participated in - the dedication of the marker at Old Chestnut Grove Cemetery, May 24, 2009 for Private Henry Northrop (American Civil War) Carolyn designed the cover and found the words for the cover. As long as she was able, she participated in and developed artistic projects for us.
DAN HILL
Superintendent Hill at the Old and New Chestnut Grove Cemetery was a strong supporter of the HSOF. He would always keep us informed of his latest events and projects. He did research on the Civil War soldiers resting at Old Chestnut Grove - among his projects: the monuments for Private Northrop and Private Domonique Simon, 13th Louisiana Volunteer Infantry.. Every Halloween he would dress up in his stove top hat and give tours of Chestnut Grove.

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, we will have our Memorial Day Remembrance (Anticipated) Ceremony, 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post #403 Memorial New Chestnut Grove Cemetery. It is brief - about twenty minutes.
JUNE
In June we will have our picnic and present the "Key Person" award. There will be more details later.
We do need somebody to do the OVER THE FALLS. Let us know if you would be interested. It should come out every three months.
We received a phone call (from St. Louis) asking about the West View Police Department. Would anyone know where the records from West View are, specifically the Police Department and Fire Department?
